We have trained nearly 3000 students around Chennai for the past 7 years, we trained our students to participate various District level, Statelevel and National level competitions all over India. We have conducted many State level Silambam Competitions at South India, were nearly 1500 south Indian students participated and won many gold, silver and bronze medals, motivated to next step for participating to National levels in Silambam.

We, headed by our Trust, are training Silambam sports to the poor and needy students at free of cost and still we as a team, open handed to bring them to reach peaks at various levels in Silambam. We are happy that still our students are getting trained well, to utilize 3% silambam quota provided by the Tamil Nadu Government.

We have already conducted 1st state level silambam championship competition at AIEMA Ground, Ambattur, Chennai 600050 and 2nd state level women competition at Shri Krishnaswamy college at Anna nagar, Chennai 600040 and 3rd state level silambam competition at MCC higher secondary school, Chetpat, Chennai 600031.

We are proud to say that we are traditionally, inherited and trained Silambam followers from our Senior Master Mr. E. Rukmangathan, who is 85 years old, still practising our cultured Martial arts and Silambam in Chennai, TamilNadu, India.

Swami Vivekananda All Sports Youth Association and Related Institutions – History & Vision
(Legacy Since 1966)

Our journey began in 1966, when Sri E. Rukmangathan, a respected martial arts instructor, founded the Swami Vivekananda Udarpayirchi Koodam to teach Silambam and traditional Indian physical culture. Though formal registrations were not common at that time, his commitment to discipline, health, and cultural values laid the foundation for a powerful legacy.

Inspired by this heritage, his son Sri R. Elumalai and daughter-in-law Smt. Vinnarasi Elumalai legally established the Swami Vivekananda Silambam Koodam Trust, offering free Silambam training to underprivileged students. Today, many of these students excel at state and national levels.

To further the mission across sports, the Swami Vivekananda All Sports Youth Association (Reg. No: 209/2024) was created. This body conducts transparent, rule-based competitions at both state and national levels, following standardized formats. Participants receive Form-2 certificates, medals, and recognition — maintaining integrity and inclusivity.
